Follow-up Comment #5, bug #57424 (project octave):

@Philip: A "clear all" or "clear functions" after initializing the gnuplot
graphics toolkit and then trying to access it again triggers the bug.
Might be that swapping the parts moved the "clear" to after the last access of
the gnuplot toolkit. But I haven't checked actually.
