On a related note, in my cross-builds I include the attached patch by Dan
Sebald that provides shortcuts for docking & undocking panes. I use those
quite regularly and IMO it would be nice to have this one applied too, but
possibly it needs some stuff in the shortcut manager I think.
I upload it here again so that it isn't forgotten.

I have lost track on which bug report it came from; the patch is from June
2018 IIRC. The bug report could be about VE subpanes but I can't find it :-(
