Follow-up Comment #11, bug #49548 (project octave):
In comment #10 the example for Octave 4.4.1, I forgot to export the correct
LD_LIBRARY_PATH, thus
liboctinterp.so.6 => not found
liboctave.so.6 => not found
is not "true" and looks as verbose as for 4.2.2, because of the transient
dependencies of those.
