Follow-up Comment #29, bug #41215 (project octave):

Yes, despite "path (orig_path)" not running PKG_DEL currently, I still think
this is vastly superior to trying to keep track of directories that you need
to run rmpath() on in a loop or a cellfun.

Do you really think it's a serious problem that "pkg test io" will leave the
java class path modified? I don't.

As I said, this is a new feature, and I think we should rather implement it as
simply and easy to read as possible, and not clutter it with unnecessary code
that will be deleted later. These kinds of complications are why I basically
don't work on the pkg function at all, it's already ridiculously complicated.
