URL: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?57649> Summary: [MXE Octave] Sign Windows installer with trusted certificate Project: GNU Octave Submitted by: mmuetzel Submitted on: Tue 21 Jan 2020 04:27:13 PM CET Category: Configuration and Build System Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Item Group: None Status: None Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: dev Operating System: Microsoft Windows _______________________________________________________ Details: When using the NSIS installers on Windows 10, a prominent message pops up warning the user that they shouldn't trust unsigned files downloaded from the internet. Maybe these MS resources [1] help to understand how the installer could be signed. I don't know whether we would have access to a trusted certificate though. Do we? (Maybe via GNU?) This question and answers on stack overflow [2] might also be useful.
