Follow-up Comment #2:

Confirmed. In Texinfo 6.7, the command @seealso was introduced. Octave has
updated renamed its own to @xseealso, packages that define a @seealso should
probably follow suit, or rely on Octave's macros.texi instead of redefining
their own.
