Follow-up Comment #4, bug #58376 (project octave): The attached updated patch also fixes printing non-integer font size to pdf via svgconvert: the issue had gone unnoticed since the previous implementation of sub/superscript only used integer font sizes. I also attached the script I used for testing (tst.m). Those changes are very simple (and safe) and I'd like to push them to stable if no one opposes.
