Follow-up Comment #15, bug #58814 (project octave):

regarding Rik's segfault, i am not so deep into the code, so can be absolutely
wrong but it is a vague feeling i am asking myself regarding comment #2:

opengl_renderer::draw_patch is called by canvas, hence lives in the gui thread
and should be basically a qt paint event, right? i think it will also run if a
notify event is triggered. that is when a window of a figure is closed which
is obscuring another figure window. but that can happen during shut down.

i am asking myself if the segfault also occurs if the windows don't overlap in
the tst_segfault.m example?
