Follow-up Comment #10, bug #59018 (project octave): The crash in the gdb backtrace in comment #9 also seems to have occurred in the variable editor. I think what jwe meant by "not use it" was that it should not be used at all throughout the entire Octave session. Do you remember which variables (especially which types) were shown in the variable editor when the crash happened? There are a few bug reports about crashes in the variable editor. The fixes for some of those haven't been released yet: https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/index.php?go_report=Apply&group=octave&func=browse&set=custom&msort=0&report_id=101&advsrch=1&status_id%5B%5D=0&resolution_id%5B%5D=0&submitted_by%5B%5D=0&assigned_to%5B%5D=0&category_id%5B%5D=0&bug_group_id%5B%5D=101&severity%5B%5D=0&priority%5B%5D=0&summary=variable+editor&details=variable+editor&sumORdet=0&history_search=0&history_field=0&history_event=modified&history_date_dayfd=27&history_date_monthfd=8&history_date_yearfd=2020&chunksz=50&spamscore=5&boxoptionwanted=1#options Does any of those seem related? Maybe bug #57709? _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?59018> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
