Follow-up Comment #6, bug #59029 (project octave): I can no longer reproduce the original error. "ver" no longer lists the failed package installation. I'm not sure what has changed since last time I checked. I uninstalled and reinstalled Octave a bunch of times (in directories with and without spaces on NTFS partitions with and without support for short file names). But currently it is installed at the default location (in %PROGRAMFILES%).
