Thanks.

The first one makes sense to me.  There is no "end" in the argument list, so
subsref is called only once.

But for the second?  I see that subsref is called for obj.methodA, and it
makes some sense to make that call to find out whether obj.methodA is a value
or a function, but why does "end" get the value 3?  Where does that come from?
