Follow-up Comment #8, bug #59237 (project octave):

The pasting in the CLI completed after about 35 minutes. Size of the array is
28x256.
It looks like the time for pasting a line is related to the number of lines
left. This would explain why it continuously becomes faster. The last lines
took approx 16, 10, 4 and 2 sec.

But as there is no permanent freezing and no crash, it's not related to my
problem.
