Follow-up Comment #3, bug #59304 (project octave):

Tested the patch and it works for 'ftp', '@ftp/ftp', and '@ftp/ftp.m'.  It
does not work for 'ftp.m'.  It seems like it should because other m-files on
the path do work.  For example,


exist sind.m
ans = 2
