Follow-up Comment #42, bug #57033 (project octave): Please, dis-regard the last sentence of the last comment. I confused myself. CHOLMOD (and possibly other SuiteSparse libraries) has functions for long and "normal" integers. We just use the ones that match Octave's index type. SuiteSparse seems to have functions only for long integers.
