Follow-up Comment #3:
Yeah, Octave was (somewhat arbitrarily imho) appending "++" to the magick
option. That has been removed recently on the default branch to allow
configuring with magick++ packages whose name does *not* end with "++".
That means that it will be necessary to configure with the real name of the
magick++ library from now on.
Maybe we should add a comment about that change to the NEWS file.
