Follow-up Comment #14, bug #61208 (project octave): I think ideally we should let user to setup desired number of threads. On 16-core (32-threads) linux I set it to 8. I noticed that performance does not increase much after that. I think running too many threads increases CPU T too much so it reduces its frequency. So may be it is easier if the setting is done in some kind of a startup script rather than in an exe . BTW, 10-25 fails test eigs (error in dneupd) -- not sure if this is related to too many openblas threads.
