Follow-up Comment #53, bug #62847 (project octave):

Forgot that 'R:' corresponds to the current folder of that drive (not
necessarily the root of that drive). I pushed yet another change here that
makes sure to get the canonicalized path of the *root* of a potential mapped
network drive:

I hope we are slowly getting closer to a stable solution for this...
