Follow-up Comment #18, bug #62352 (project octave):

When installing was it installed as local user or admin ?

I beleive the app dir changes depending on which.

For local APPDATA is user\appdata\roaming 

The only thing it should do in terms of other installs is if the file is
currently opened or loaded, then it wont be able to delete it, so will
silently leave it.

I could add a field showing where its attempting to delete the fields from,
but I dont think it can log anything currently
