According to the definition of code cells in Jupyter Notebooks:
https://nbformat.readthedocs.io/en/latest/format_description.html#cell-types
their 'source' value can be "single string or [list, of, strings]". It seems
that jupyter_notebook only expects the latter. I fixed it by adding the
following in the constructor:
if (! iscell (nbcell.source))
obj.notebook.cells{i}.source = {obj.notebook.cells{i}.source};
endif
