This is not a task for me, though a change in colour would perhaps be
easy enough to do..

Ok, this is just a simplification in the build process as the directory
name in the tar is the same as the directory in the octave-forge CVS. To
implement this would require the copying to a temporary location prior
to creating the tar, but is easily fixable.
