It has been in more or less the same state since July 1 1993 when I
added the LPsolve.{h,cc} files.  I guess no one ever cared enough in
the last 13-1/2 years to do the necessary work.  Maybe those files
should be removed?

I was not aware of this.  I looked at the code and I don't think I
would accept it as part of Octave as it is, but maybe someone would
want to package it and/or put a pointer to it on the future package
distribution site.  Oh yeah, we need someone to work on that too, as
we discussed in this thread:
