Sounds good, but I don't really know anything about these - I use &
love LaTeX/TeX, but never delved into the details. Some issues:
1) this would be a time-consuming process, so we'd probably have to
set up some caching for the bitmaps
2) You have the whole TeX distro as a run-time dependency -
problematic for windows machines (and maybe macs also)
