| The subscription form offers read-only as an option. So I have filed the
| subscription at gmane.org.

| The graphics and sources mailing lists are marked as discontinued at gmane.org
| (http://gmane.org/info.php?group=gmane.comp.gnu.octave.sources and
| http://gmane.org/info.php?group=gmane.comp.gnu.octave.graphics). And indeed,
| when I try to post to one of these via gmane, I get an error message stating
| this. So I guess there is no need to change anything.

Using the "Post" option from the drop-down menu in the upper right
corner of the page

I was able to post to the list (though my test posting won't appear on
the list or in the archives because all messages to the graphics and
sources lists are held for approval and I deleted it before it was
archived or sent to the subscribers). So unfortunately it does not
seem to be completely disabled.
