Equalis.com is new. The site was launched in late July/early August,
so I wouldn't expect too many folks to be familiar with the name. I'm
hoping to have one of the co-founders to post a more extended
description of Equalis to this forum. Hopefully that will clearly
outline what the company hopes to do and answer questions with respect
to intent.

The octave group does require registration, so the direct link will
just point to the logon page. The content within the group is minimal.
I was inviting people to go there primarily to review the features:
blogs, groups, etc., and see what would be useful in promoting,
developing, and supporting octave. Without registering you can visit
the forums and get a feel for the early direction for the site:
http://www.equalis.com/forums/.

I expect getting an extended description out to the community will
help to determine if Equalis is of interest. I originally was focused
on determining what features would be useful, but we've gotten into a
more fundamental discussion on practicality and legitimacy. Best we
address that first.
