wow, this is great. It installed perfectly.

By the way, if I do /avifile("codecs")/, it returns an empty list.
Do you know how to install codecs?
I tried to load an avi file, and octave crashed. I suppose it is because
there is no codec.

I understand if you could not support this package.

I'll take a look when I get a chance. Did you try the avitest.m test file in the video source package (download it from sourceforge)? I tried it locally and it seems to work fine. But indeed avifile('codecs') does not return anything.
