I passed through all the classes in liboctave/array and added trivial OpenMP constructs i was somehow "sure" won't cause any problems. Do you have any heavy script covering these changes? Could you please benchmark it to see how much, if any, do we gain?

IMHO, it's always great to fully utilize the hardware even if it doesn't lead to considerable gain in performance.
