If you are interested in the parcellfun or pararrayfun functions, please consider the following patch against general 1.3.2 ? https://savannah.gnu.org/patch/?8303 With it, calculations can be easily split on multiple cores while still being vectorized. It can also be used to split memory expensive calculations in chunks. Documentation is still to be extended, but I see that these functions are being moved to parallel, so it might be better to provide it early.
