That alone would be a good reason to use it.Who is currently maintaining it, if anyone? Will they want to work on it as part of Octave, or continue to keep it as a separate project?
It could work to keep it as a separate project. If it becomes an Octave dependency, then it would be more likely to continue to work because we would be continually testing it.
