Having just one
graphics toolkit is surely a good idea. But, this will
take some work. Qt is not currently available under Fedora so I
can not even try it. What advantages does Qt have over fltk on
systems that support both?

It seems wasteful to have to maintain both Qt and fltk graphics.
For example, I just made a change for the "Save" and "Save As"
menu items in the Qt graphics code. This change took much longer
than it should have when I remembered that the change would also
need to be made in the fltk graphics code and that needed to be
done in a completely different way.
