Follow-up Comment #2, patch #10288 (project octave):

Until we have fully implemented the new arguments block syntax in Octave I
don't think we should try to fake support for the keyword=value option
syntax.

If you want to handle optional parameters, you can correctly support
"keyword", value pairs using inputParser or other means, or you can accept
option structs.
