Hi,
Just let me tell you, that MIDI is working 100% on my computer.
I have a MIDI synth daughterboard connected to the MPU401 Uart and
it works 100% ok.
I really don't understand why your having so much trouble.
Best Regards

Do you have something connected to your MPU401, triggering MPU401 Uart
interrupts ?

Extremely weird. I'm using my Midi Synth through ALSA and the OSS sequencer
emulation and both work perfect. I tested it on 2 different AU8830 and a
AU8820.
