Hi,

I guessed there would be some programs having trouble, but not that
much. THe problem is that there are some combinations of period size
that are not supported by the Aureal Vortex causing "clicks".
But it semes that the restriction for the the period size is to picky.
I'll try to fix that soon.

By the way, on ADB address 0x8c and 0x8d i was able to playback audio
through the "surround" dac (STAC9708 codec). Thats means that quad
playback is possible. But i was unable to set the codec in quad mode to
playback a normal stereo stream through 4 speaker. The STAC9708
datasheet states that this is possible setting a certain bit.

No. The max period size is 4096 bytes. There are max 64 periods.
