I believe you have gone the long way around. Since you have SuSE I'd
suggest you just go to the download section of pan.rebelbase.com and try
the 0.12 RPM that is there (under user-contributed packages). There's
another download site, above that, if you have Ximian GNOME installed.
Remember to *upgrade* (rather than just "install") the package and that
will ensure you do not have two copies of Pan floating around.
