OK, I compiled from source and used checkinstall to build an RPM. Now I get:
address@hidden pan-0.13.1]$ pan
pan: error while loading shared libraries: libgtkspell.so.0: cannot open
shared object file: No such file or directory
address@hidden pan-0.13.1]$ locate libgtkspell.so.0
/usr/local/lib/libgtkspell.so.0
/usr/local/lib/libgtkspell.so.0.0.0
Looks like for some reason Pan can't find libgtkspell.so.0.
