This is different, I think. Starting the external editor doesn't bog
down my computer -- cpu usage doesn't shoot up to 100% -- and doesn't
slow up responsiveness, it just pauses Pan's background tasks.
I'm not saying you shouldn't make bug reports for the things you
mentioned.
