the USB on the LPC2148 processor that is used with the Tiny/TWOG is a
USB Function, meaning it can only talk to a USB Host as in a PC. USB
hardware like USB-to-serial is Function, too. Those Function devices can
not talk to each other as USB is not really a bus,

There are some SPI-to-serial converter chips available but the ones I
have seen only give you an serial hardware interface like a 16550 so
that you have to program all the registers by yourself. Have not seen a
direct SPI to serial chip or software yet.
