I did more test today and i must say that i am very pleased from the
quality of measurements i am getting.
I have placed the sensor on the wing far away from the propeller wash.
Hi.
Hardware Filtering on the power and signal lines from the sonar
together with software filtering (with a sort of prediction) does
miracles and the measurements are stable, fast and reliable.
Anyway only after a couple test flights i will know for sure but for now
this XL maxsonar looks very good indeed.
The way i selected to use the sonar is to enable the sonar from the
flight plan after entering the final leg and when the code senses that
the sonar is giving out good quality measurements then it signals that
the sonar is available to be used as the main altitude sensor.
I guess that even if i get problems the SensComp's one will probably
work fine.

Of course i am interested, i will try whatever i can and see what happens.
