Appreciate it! Ive been actually trying to tackle a couple of issues tonight and last night so be nice to make sure Im not totally off track. The main goal is to get the link between the autopilot and the ground station up, so I can start working on the sensors:

1) the default setting for the data-link in the control panel.xml file is to use paparazzi/xbee simlink using udev. I understand how udev works and I verified with the paparazzi rules file and for paparazzi/xbee whats being matched for in sysfs is:
BUS=="usb", SYSFS{product}=="MaxStream PKG-U", KERNEL=="ttyUSB*".
When I check /dev/ttyUSB0 using udevadm, I realised that the paparazzi/serial simlink was a perfect match. That didnt work either. I double checked the udev docs and BUS should be SUBSYSTEMS, and SYSFS should be ATTRS... But even when I changed those and restarted, paparazzi/serial didnt link to /dev/ttyUSB0 properly. This is on karmik 9.10 ubuntu with udev version 147. I am currently just using a direct path to /dev/ttyUSB0 to try to progress but would love to fix this issue.

2) Im also trying to understand how the datalink side of the software works and where it gets setup. The info on wiki for paparazzi is actually quite thorough, and says that a session for datalink needs to be setup for both control_panel and aircraft. Right now the booz2_a1 aircraft xml file doesnt have any session config for the datalink.. Is it to leave it open to the user to configure his/her own modems or is that method of configuring the modems deprecated now?

Best Regards
