Hi Cédric,

I know it's possible for a skilling programmer or someone with some experience to build a simple autopilot, I've just seen so many overenthusiastic undergrads who are sure they can build both the UAV and the autopilot and make it work better than paparazzi, and months down the line find it to be more difficult than they first thought.
This seems to be a field where NIH (Not Invented Here) is rife!

Well, 8 years ago, before I joined the paparazzi, I succeeded in building a very basical autopilot with just a PIC, some thermopiles and a GPS. You basically have to write the code to stabilize the plane with the thermopiles and the code to move the rudder to follow the waypoints.
It worked with the twinstar.
You will be far away from what you can achieve with the paparazzi, but you will have made a system of your own...
