A different photography related question.
I have seen small commercial UAVs here and there that claim to have pretty good quality camera (not video camera) devices integrated but they must be pretty small to fit into some of these frames. Does anyone know where you can get something like this? So far I have only found Sony industrial cameras but they all seem relatively large.

Which Ixus model do you have exactly? If you are willing to pull it apart you can attach a PicoSwitch to the shutter pin inside the camera case. I did this with a Coolpix (photo and description at the bottom of this page:

Apropos. How do you like the Maja? How crash proof is it?
I like the modularity. But I still expect to total it a few times. When I look at my Bixler it's mote glue than foam.
Good question. I try to keep in one piece and so haven't managed to smack it into the ground yet ;) It is very modular and you should be able to repair it pretty easily. I have seen people having the nose portion break off but they either don't bother fixing it or patch it up by just gluing it back on (it's all EPO).

I really like the wing and body fixing method with coroplast and plastic rods.

Amongst my too many flying projects I am half way through building the Skywalker X8 ( which may end up being my plane of choice.
