[Phpgroupware-developers] Optionally not showing info using templates - how?

I would like to hide some columns in a module's screen that shows some table 
output

The module currently uses a template arrangement

Would I just set the value of the column variables to null or can I add php code
directly into the template to check the global configuration options to see if 
that
section should be displayed or not
