I didn't upgrade from HEAD.  Here is my CVS script:

cvs $SERVER co $VERSION phpgroupware
cd phpgroupware

chown nobody:nogroup * -R

cd ..
echo "We're all through now."

... didn't backup?  (Hanging head in shame)  Sorry.  I guess I haven't been
practicing what I preach.
