Michael: I took another look at cdb, and it does to appear to have changed
since I
looked at it a year ago. It seems to have no interface, only a backend, which
does
look good though. I am just wondering why cdb was abandoned after all that hard
work? But a more important question is: How is the DCL contact application
coming
along? I hear good things about it.
Brian: I do not claim to be more than a junior developer so I yield to the
judgement
of you and the rest of those involved with this project. I would have never
guessed
it would be easier to change the backend than the front end. I would have
figured
that if we change the backend, we end up having to change the frontend anyway.
For
instance, if we change the db layout, we have to change the importing/exporting
as
well as any palm syncing work we have done, am I missing something? But anyway,
my
specialty has never been db design, it is UI design/development. So that's why
I am
looking for something I can build on.
Alex: I understand completely. I have been guilty of jumping to conclusions on
more
than one occassion. It is very easy to do online. :) I value you too much to
hold
any grudges. So, no worries.
