Yes, I had tried doing that (see below)...but had no luck.  What queries should 
I look for?  I'm just confused why I can't grab the 
$GLOBALS['HTTP_POST_VARS']...is it getting unset somewhere and passed to 
$event?  Thanks again for the help.

Look for the line

        $this->bo->add_attribute('location','');

and add a similar line with your field name.  This is in uicalendar. 
Sometime back, I added (at least I don't think it was in there by 
default!) a field called leadtime that allows my users to set the lead 
time for an alarm system we've got hooked into groupware's database. 
When I look through my source, that's the only relevant bit of code I 
see beyond what you've already put into place, though you may need to 
modify a query somewhere as well.
