Please apply the quick fix and report back ok or not.  If no one tests in the
next week or so I'm going to commit the fix assuming the 2-box test is good
enough (and niether boxes are any version of debian).

Please test this, or point to docs saying it will not break things to add
/notls to non-imaps connections.
