if you are using php 5.2 you need apply the patch, it's in the
"sticky" post in the forum.

BTW, php 5.2 is not officially supported with phpgw 0.9.16.  We'll try
to help you make it work, but there's no guarantees that we will
succeed.  It is a goal for the next release though.
