I like some idea from extreme programming in this regard: first actually 
write the test case (in software!) than do the coding in order to make 
your module/function/wahtever to fullfill that test.

No untested software anymore. (provided you do have tests for the 
complete system as well, as you might brake things on the way previously 
working)
