Hey Rick,

Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. It sounds like a cvs update will
fix your probelm, use these instructions:

1 cd /path/to/phpgroupware
2 cvs -z3 update -Pd

That should do it. There is a problem with apache 2 that has now been fixed.
Please let me know if this fixes it so i can close the report off.

Cheers

=================== BUG #1420: FULL BUG SNAPSHOT ===================

Submitted by: biker Project: phpGroupWare
Submitted on: 2002-Oct-15 12:17
Category: registration Bug Group: 0.9.14 release
Severity: 5 - Major Priority: None
Resolution: None Assigned to: None
Status: Open Component Version: TGZ
Platform Version: Linux - RedHat Reproducibility: Every Time

Summary: Registration page and login page return to same page after submitting
info

Original Submission: I am using RedHat 8.0 (kernel 2.4.18-14), httpd 2.0.40,
phpGW 0.9.14.000 (tgz release), php 4.2.2-8.0.5, and postgreSQL 7.2.2-1.
After running the setup/configuration utility, completing the configuration and
application mgmt I attempt to use either the login page or registration page
and enter in the info. When clicking on Submit, it returns to that page and
removes the info I previously attempted to submit. No account is created nor is
any confirmation email generated.
You can see for yourself at https://ctx.bartelshome.net/phpgroupware/ or at
https://ctx.bartelshome.net/phpgroupware/registration/.
We are using release candidate 3 of the same version on a 7.3 RedHat box using
the same version of php and apache 1.3. Before upgrading to RedHat 8, I tried
the same setup under 7.3 as well, with the latest available version of php,
with the same results for my registration page.
Please advise.

Thanks Dave, I appreciate the come-back.
Not sure why you couldn't access my server though as I tried from that link I
posted below and it worked fine, unless I was in the process of rebooting or
something.
Also when you post the update, could you post the instructions for updating via
cvs to me as well? I am relatively new to the Linux field. I have about 11 yrs
of Novell and Win Server experience but am still finding my way around RedHat
and apache.
Thanks...
biker (Rick Bartels)

Hey biker,

Ok ... there are some problems with phpgw and apache 2. Some one is currently
testing a fix for it. I will post a followup here when it is in cvs.

btw ... i couldn't access your server.

Cheers

I *did not* have Register Globals = On in my php.ini and have changed that.
That has fixed the registration page, but not the regular login page. The
registration page will now take you to the User info form and will allow
submission. However, the login page still returns to the login page after
submitting username and password.
Again, if you wish to see what I am referring to, you can visit
https://ctx.bartelshome.net/phpgroupware/ I have created the standard guest
accounts with my administrator account so the demo, demo2, etc. accounts will
work.

Thank you for your quick initial response and thanks in advance for your
assistance with this login problem.
