as long as you specify the full system path and the database has the proper
permissions it doesn't matter. I have 9 different installs total of 3
different versions of phpgw on 2 different servers with none having the default
names or paths and all works fine here.

does it make a differece that the directory and the database are different from
the default?

server dir: www_root/phpgwtest/

db name : phpgwtest

just did a CVS update today(09/23/2003). and the header.inc.php issue just got
worse. Now when it creates the header.inc.php, i can no longer login into
header admin or config admin. It just tosses me back to the main setup page.
Apache shows no errors and neither does MYSQL. I checked and rechecked the
install docs and file permissions.

the apache server is running as u: nobody g: nobody

thedatabase is phpgwtest

DEll P4 Server 2x1.2gig 512meg ram

Mandrake Linux 9.1

mysql 3.23

apache 1.3

php 4

Are you using multiple domains? There is a known (but unlogged) issue with
this. Will get a fix in the next day or so.
