     Here is a patch to try.  I haven't had a chance to test it, but I
     think that it should work.  If it works for you I'll push it to
     the repository.

On initial tests, it appears to work fine, except that I would have
expected casereader_get_value_cnt on the new casereader to return 1 more
than that of the old one.  But that's not what I am experiencing.
